Lavenham

This unique village was created around 750 years ago by Henry II when he granted Lavenham market status. Lavenham is one of the most and best preserved medieval villages in the UK, home to more than 300 listed timber framed buildings. Lavenham made is fortunes thanks to the thriving wool trade and by the early 15th century was ranked the 14th richest town in the country.
Landmarks such as the Guildhall of Corpus Christi and the opulent St Peter and St Paul Church boast the wealth of the time.

Today Lavenham is a thriving village with a number of galleries, fantastic restaurants and hotels along with plenty of tea rooms and pubs offering a welcome rest.
